Summer Programs

Migrant Learning Lab

Teachers work with students at Pioneer Elementary Migrant Learning Lab.

As I stated in an earlier post I have the opportunity to work this summer with some great people in the Fort Morgan area serving our migrant, immigrant and refugee families. We currently have:

2 – Migrant Learning Labs running until the end of July

2 – Math Masters classrooms running, one with 2 bi-national teachers from Mexico (I will feature this program in the next post), running until the end of July.

1 – Advancing Refugee Academic Readiness classroom running until the end of July (funded by a grant from Lutheran Family Services).

These programs are a collaborative effort between the Morgan County School District RE-3, CBOCES, Colorado Department of Education, and Lutheran Family Services.

In August CBOCES in collaboration with Fort Morgan High School will provide a transition program for incoming freshmen migrant students to prepare them for their life in high school.

I will feature the Bi-National program in the next post.
